Monte Carlo Resort Transformation Into Park MGM Progressing Smoothly 551925

MGM Resorts International announced last year that it planned to transform the popular Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and rebrand it into the Park MGM. The casino property is going through a complete makeover and work commenced on the project in October. 1q4ua

MGM recently announced that things are progressing smoothly and the transformed property will feature two hotels called Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas. Park MGM will be the bigger hotel between the two featuring 2,700 rooms. The NoMad Las Vegas is expected to have around 290 rooms. Sydell Group has partnered with MGM Resorts for the makeover and has confirmed that 90% of the rooms are expected to be fully renovated by next week and the project will be completed during the first half of 2018.

MGM Resorts Chairman and CEO Jim Murren had earlier said that the company was investing in a makeover and rebranding campaign. This is because MGM that it is now considered old fashion for casino properties to be named after luxurious and exotic destinations around the world. Las Vegas is considered the entertainment capital in America and MGM was happy to rebrand the property and give it a new look.

Park MGM has announced that it is open to booking hotel reservations for its renovated rooms. By the time the project is completed, all the rooms will feature modern interior design and aesthetics. Electric artwork, accent walls, and a picture window are just some of the concepts featured in the redesign. The call for renovating the casino with modern aesthetics is primarily to attract millennials, as they are known for being more appreciative of modern art.

MGM Resorts has announced that it will no longer be looking at international casino resort opportunities with the exception of Japan. The company will focus on its domestic market and has plans to give some of its properties a facelift. After the Park MGM project is completed, MGM Resorts will then commence with plans of renovating two more of its Strip properties which are the Excalibur and Luxor.

MGM Resorts hasn’t fully detailed what renovations it will be making to the Excalibur and Luxor. The company will invest a significant amount of money to complete both projects but the makeover process for Excalibur and Luxor is not likely to consist of a rebranding program.
